🎉 Happy New Year from the Granada English Academy! 🎉
We're kicking off 2025 by empowering Nicaraguan youth through the life-changing gift of English education, and you can help!
As we look forward to 2025, we’re reflecting on the incredible growth and resilience of our students at the Granada English Academy and looking ahead to a year full of promise and opportunity.
We’re empowering Nicaraguan youth to dream bigger, learn smarter, and reach higher. Every Saturday, our classrooms buzz with excitement as students aged 6 to 18 dive into lessons that prepare them for brighter futures through English fluency.
📸 A Glimpse Inside Our School 📸
Our students are eager learners, full of curiosity and determination. Each week, they practice English through conversations, storytelling, and activities that introduce them to new ideas and possibilities. Here are a few photos from recent classes, including an outing to a local store and some visitors we’ve had visit the school to speak English with our learners:

Why English Matters
For our students, learning English is more than just a skill—it’s a bridge to opportunity. In Nicaragua, English proficiency is a key to accessing higher education, competitive jobs in tourism and international business, and a more connected future.
Your support helps our students build these critical skills, giving them the tools to dream beyond their circumstances and create lasting change in their lives.
Former Student Spotlight
“My name is Alberto Morales. I am a former Mr. Jose Manuel Lopez’ English student.
I wanted to share a little bit about my story and how English Language has been an important part of my life. It all starts when I was a little kid who demonstrated interest for video games, the funny thing about it is that I loved playing them but I couldn’t understand a word. That made me start being interested in learning and I then I realized I loved it without knowing how important is was going to be in my life.
I then started my Elementary School stage, in which English was included as one of the subjects. This is the time when I was able to meet Mr. Jose Manuel Lopez as one of my first English teachers.
We quickly built a good relationship starting with the fact of how interested I was in learning the language and (not to brag) how good I was at it.
This continued during my high school stage, where he was also my English teacher. I learned a lot from his classes and through all those years. After I graduated from high school, I continued learning by myself until I decided to start my journey in the call center industry.
Having a good English proficiency helped me a lot since my very first days as an agent. Due to my dedication and hard work, I was promoted to trainer at the company which is the position I currently hold.
I also had the honor of visiting Mr. Jose Manuel at his English school in Granada to share my story of how English has been and will continue to be a very important part in my life. Additionally, I was able to spend some time with the students and get to know them in a closer way.”
Thank you,
Alberto Morales
